Family game night is the highlight of our week! We are all competitive, so getting to the top is always a fun, challenging time. When I went to plan our next evening, I realized that we did not have any of the classic games I grew up with. In hopes to bring some nostalgia into our home, I headed to Walmart+ to up our game (literally).

Here are my top picks to bring the classics back.
First, we had to bring it back with CROCODIL DENTIST! This one was a classic growing up. I also found myself playing with it the most. The littles were nervous (as was I) to push his little teeth down. Do not be the one to find his bad tooth or CHOMP!
Next, we had CANDY LAND. This was the boy’s favorite game of the group. The goal of the game is to get to the sweetest land of all by pulling different color cards. You never want to pull the peppermint when you are so far ahead, it can be detrimental to the success of winning.
MOM TIP: I loved this one because we are able to practice basic colors with my youngest.
GUESS WHO? Is a classic that is making a strong come back. The game consists of two players (or teams) that have to guess the opposing players ‘person’ (card). This is done by describing what the person is wearing, hair color, eye color, etc.
MOM TIP: This one was great as my oldest is working on adjectives. He got some practice in with this game.
OPERATION is next! This one is where our competitive side really came out. The goal is to get a certain bone/body part “out of Sam”. Each body part is worth a certain amount. The catch is to not hit the side, or you will get a great, loud BUZZ.
MOM TIP: Although this one was a little hard for my youngest, I loved it because it really worked on his tiny hand muscles. We just let him have multiple turns with the tweezers.
Finally, THE GAME OF LIFE. This game is a life lesson in itself. This one is for the older age kids, but we modified it to make it fun for everyone. It made it more interesting and we really got to give a lesson on LIFE.
MOM TIP: I am proud to say that my 4-year-old now has a limited understanding of retirement.
Most importantly, do not forget the snacks! Popcorn is practically a staple in our household.
