All the birthday details – Casual Mickey Backyard party

When the topic of birthday parties first started happening with my oldest little, I swore I would never do a character theme. They just seemed sooo… cheesey? lol I liked cool themes like dinosaurs and Bounce house. One year I took a look back and realized that this day is a celebration of my tiny little humans and I needed to let my wants go.

Let’s take it back to a few weeks ago. Here I am – 7 birthdays under my belt. My little babe is turning two… in TWO weeks and I had nothing planned. I needed to get this done ASAP, but wanted to remain as stress free as possible. Thus, backyard party with his favorite character was born. Done and done.

Time to execute. May was a busy month for us so I depended on Amazon, in-store pick up and Facebook party groups. LOL. I knew I didn’t want to go tooooooo character and keep it super casual. So I ordered the essentials and prayed it would all come together.

Day of. Does anybody else stress about not having enough food? In my family, we LOVE to eat. We want to make sure everyone is fed and their bellies are full. This was one thing I did stress about. After confiding in my parents with reassurance it will be okay, it all ended well. Haha

Let’s talk about décor. Some décor didn’t go as planned either. I realized I hate streamers and will never by them again. Plan B was those pretty red balloons, but they ended up blowing away in the breeze. Positive is we got a cute shot of them as a photo prop. All in all it turned out super simple, I learned to not sweat the small stuff and we had an amazing day with those we love.

Décor and party details below.
Happy 2nd birthday my little handsome prince.
Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and made his big day, a great day!

PARTY DEETS – MICKEY MOUSE THEME
Tables, Chairs and Jumper: Rented by a local company
Tables: Red table-cloth (Target) with a Mickey cutouts (Amazon), black bowl (Party City) for chips, Mickey ears (Amazon)
Coloring Table: Custom color pages (Etsy) with crayons (Target)
Food: Grill made Hot Dogs and Hamburgers with all the fixings, potato salad, nachos, watermelon and strawberries

Cake: We phoned in our cake order to our local Stater Bros. We had a red cake made with and added a Mickey topper (Party City). White cupcakes.

Present table (originally the cake table): White table-cloth (Target), white and black striped table runner (Amazon) and Mickey cutout banner (Amazon) – This was originally the cake table. Original plan was to include two red cupcake stands with the white cupcakes and red cake.
Piñata: I almost purchased a Mickey Piñata from a women on our Facebook page, but to travel and get it would have just been another stress factor I was trying to avoid. We ended up buying him from Party City!

Cups: These were originally supposed to fill the center of the tables as a sort of center piece, but the wind was not having it. In hindsight, we could have made them water cups. Stickers, straws and cups are from Amazon.

Goody bags: All items were from Amazon. (Sunglasses, Bags, Balls, Mickey items, Candy) We did Mickey Goldfish for the younger kids (Amazon)

PARTY HIGHLIGHT:Bubble machine – my littlest little had a blast chasing the bubbles. (Amazon) Seriously, nothing else mattered but this LOL

Birthday Boy Outfit: Red Mickey Shirt, Jean Shorts (Link here)
