Mom Life Travel

The kids have been gone for a month, living their best life!

Secret?
My kids have been gone for the last month!!!

I tend to post most about my life after the fact because, internet safety. Lol. (Sooooo Kardashian of me, I know LMAO) So when you see post about vacations or trips, they were usually at least a few days before. Instagram stories tend to be a little more current. But I always ‘check-in’ or tag a place after we already left (especially with my littles!).

So… holding on to the secret that my boys have been away from me for more than 5 weeks may come as a surprise to some. It’s also put me in a huge creative funk since

1. Talking photos of them is my internet life lol and
2. I didn’t feel honest or genuine in my post.

It’s also why I haven’t been too active on my stories and why my husband and I always seem to be on date night. HAHA

THE DECISION
Once our oldest little was off from school, a decision had to be made. Did he stay at home with my amazing sister who watches them while my husband and I worked? Or do we let him travel with his grandparents.

Trust me when I say, this decision was not easy. We weighed the pros and cons and finally concluded that being out and about with the two people who probably love them the most was the best decision for them.

THEIR ADVENTURE
My boys are living their best life! They get to be outdoors and explore new places. Plus be spoiled rotten. They been to carnivals, waterparks, rodeos and experience just so much fun. Plus, they are learning to do DIY farms and home improvements with there Tata (Great Grandfather) and play with dirt all they want. Literally their life is probably made with that little fact alone.

The greatest asset (for the mom in me at least) is that my grandparents are speaking to both in Spanish all summer. This will help this coming school year in so many ways. Plus being exposed to a different language will only help their development as a whole.

OUR ADVENTURE
Parent life has been a whole lotta different lately. Of course, every moment we’re not at work we’re talking about how much we miss the kids. We (read: me), cry over every photo that is sent. I swear they both have become little boys.

But we also have had time to really be together once again. Almost like our dating years. We’ve eating fast food late in night in our car, parked in front of the house. Even went to the movies! We also spent some time on our own personal hobbies like sleeping (me HAHA) and golf for him. We’ve also had the opportunity to do a lot of home improvements. Over all, it has been a great time to reconnect and grow, but we’re missing our babies.

I hope by sharing this, I can get my creativeness back.
So please don’t be worried if you see less of my kids and more of me in my feed. HAHA
