EARTH MONTH: DIY Piggy Bank + Piñata using Kleenex Box!

This post sponsored by Kleenex® tissue. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In celebration of Earth month, the kiddos and I created DIY crafts out of our empty Kleenex® tissue boxes!  We created a piggy bank and a mini piñata filled with goodies.  The kids had fun creating and we had fun making memories.

Now is the perfect time to reuse everyday essentials and stock up on these beautiful limited-edition Kleenex® Brand tissue  at your local Costco. Now to May 12, Costco members will save $4 on America’s softest facial tissue. Shop the sale online here. Now pull out the glue and get ready to DIY!

PIGGY BANK

MATERIAL
-1 empty Kleenex® tissue square box
-Construction paper
-Glue or tape
-Markers
-Scissors

OPTIONAL
-Party bag
-Glitter paint
-Googly eyes

DIRECTIONS
STEP ONE:  Wrap the box with the construction paper like a present. Leave the opening of the box at the top.  Cut a slot a on the top of the box where the coins will enter.

STEP TWO: Take the party bag (or additional construction paper) and cut rounded triangles for the ears and a circle for the nose.  Add glitter or color to the inner ears to make them pop and add to ovals to the circle to make the nose.

We used a party bag to keep the ears and nose sturdy, but construction paper will work just fine!

STEP THREE: Glue the ears, nose and googly eyes! Now the littles are ready to collect change.

MINI-Piñata

DIRECTIONS
STEP ONE:
Choose your tissue paper colors and cut into 1.5-inch strips.

STEP TWO:  Cut the strips of tissue paper every few centimeters.

STEP THREE:  Add any goodies to the Kleenex® tissue box.

STEP FOUR: Begin to tape or glue the strips of tissue paper to the box in staggered rows. This is the chance to make it your own! DONE!

This is such a cute idea! I love the idea of a kleenex box as a pinata! 🙂 Better than a balloon and paper mache, a lot less messy.

This is such a fun idea! With surprise eggs being all the rage (even though the pinata is the OG surpise thingy!).

This looks like a really fun way to recycle those Kleenex boxes. I will have to save some of mine for my grandson’s birthday party. We can make lots of mini piñatas for the kids to enjoy!
