Sensory Play meets Dough Dots!

Being the avid Pinterest mom that I am, I learned a lot about sensory play by searching ‘what to do besides watch tv’. Lol Let me tell you, the real Pinterest moms have this niche covered. Who would have thought pasta and cereal O’s could be learning tools?

Joking aside, there are so many benefits in sensory play for toddlers and young children. Did you know sensory play supports language development, cognitive growth, problem solving and much, much more?

When I teamed up with the Social Media Panel and Dough Dots, I knew this would be the perfect opportunity to get some learning in while we had a little fun.

I set the boys picnic table outside in the sunshine, added a few pasta shells and let them go to work. We played, they fought (because brothers), made up and played some more. It was a great afternoon of fun. We now have a table in our entry way with the Dough Dots ready to play. It also gives me another space to watch them while I’m cleaning up.

**WHY WE LOVE DOUGH DOTS**

THEY ACTUALLY SMELL GOOD
My littles were surprised and kept smelling them. Mama was too. We didn’t play long with other brands because we HATED the smell.

BOLD AND CLASSIC COLORS
The colors are bold and basic (in a good way). I didn’t have to describe over and over that hot pink is just a cooler version of pink or
sea
foam is like a blue but also like a green. (We’re in the why/what stage lol)

EASY OPENING FOR LITTLE HANDS
The balls were easy to open adding to the sensory play. My youngest loved how the ‘round ball’ had a soft Center to play and poke at.

GREAT FOR ALL AGES
They were great for my (almost) 2 year old and 5 year old. Also great for the young at heart (me).  It’s hard finding activities they booth enjoy, so this was the perfect match!

**LEARNING WITH DOUGH DOTS**

THEY SPARK IMAGINATION
Our dough dots inspired imagination. My oldest loved using the stamp to create an army of giraffes and lions. Depending on their bow tie placement, it depicted good vs evil. Lol

THEY HELP WITH HAND EYE COORDINATION
In my Pinterest searching I saw the use of Dough Dots, spaghetti and Cereal O’s. You would spike the spaghetti in the flattened dough dots and have the littles put them onto the spaghetti. Brilliant and fun!

STRENGTH BUILDING
Strength building doesn’t only happen in the gym. Haha my sons teacher shared that he needs to work on strengthening his hand muscles. Coloring helps sigh this, but also using scissors. Since we only have so much paper in the world, this was the perfect practice.

ITS ALL IN THE TEXTURE
My youngest enjoyed pushing googly eyes and pasta into it. He enjoyed even more poking at if. He loved the way it felt (Dough like not putty) and couldn’t get enough!

To say the least, Dough Dots were a big hit in our house. I took these photos over a week ago and they’re still going strong. Click HERE to shop. Click HERE to learn more. Happy Dotting!
